Atlanta Feldenkrais
Our Approach
We think of our bodies in parts, we say —
“My lower back hurts” or “ I have a frozen shoulder”
Whereas the body works as a whole.
If you tend to stand with your knees locked, it affects your lower back. If your chest stays tight all the time, it impacts the movement of your shoulders.
In our group classes and private lessons we connect these dots. We take time to uncover unhelpful patterns, the ones that are hard to see because they’re hidden by habits.
The lessons are a training ground for awareness and a lab for trying new choices, safely and gently.
By the end of the lesson, a once difficult movement often becomes much easier.
What is the Feldenkrais Method?
What is the Feldenkrais Method?
The Feldenkrais Method Feldenkrais (phonetically: FELDEN – KR – ICE) is a gentle, movement-based approach that helps you improve how you move, feel, and function. It uses mindful movement and body awareness to reduce pain, improve mobility, and support overall well-being.

Can this help if I feel stiff or limited in my movements?
Yes. The Feldenkrais Method isn’t just for people in pain. It’s for anyone who wants to move more freely, improve balance, or feel more at home in their body. If you feel like you’re moving through life with effort or tension, this work can offer a more pleasant way.
Is this safe after an injury or surgery?
Definitely. The Feldenkrais Method is gentle and adaptable. It meets you where you are, helping you rebuild movement patterns without pushing through pain. Many people use it to support healing and regain confidence after injury, illness, or surgery.
How is this different from other therapies?
Unlike traditional exercise or therapy, the Feldenkrais Method focuses on learning how you move rather than strengthening or stretching muscles. It works with your nervous system to create new, more efficient movement patterns—often leading to lasting changes without strain or effort.
